However, the YSRCP would not embark on the path of confrontation with the Centre and continue its amicable relations with the NDA government to achieve the demands of the state, he added.

Speaking to reporters at his office here on Sunday, Bharat Ram said the MPs would as per the directions of Chief Minister and party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He said it was the duty of the Central government to extend necessary financial assistance to the state since it had suffered heavy losses owing to bifurcation. Moreover, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should also take care of the state as 'an elder brother.'

He said that plans were afoot to get heritage tag to the ancient city Rajamahendravaram, which has all the necessary parameters, and added that the issue was raised once but set aside.

The city would also be developed with international standards along with completion of underground drainage, the MP said.

Bharat Ram said top priority would be given for clean Godavari river and an action plan also would be devised in this regard.

Instead of proposed flyovers on the National Highway 216 adjacent to the city, it is better for a single flyover between Diwan Chervu and Vemagiri and the issued would be discussed with the respective Union ministry, he said.

YSRCP leaders Routhu Suryaprakasa Rao, Pantham Kondala Rao, Akula Veerraju, M Sharmila Reddy and others were present.
