Firms told to take necessary precautions to prevent mishaps

Ongole: Prakasam District Joint Collector for Revenue and Raithu Bharosa, J Venkata Murali, organised the district crisis group meeting at his chamber on Tuesday.

DRO V Venkata Subbaiah, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories Srinivasa Rao, Inspector of Factories Murali Krishna, EE of APPCB G Nagireddy, DSP KVVNV Prasad, RDO Prabhakar Reddy and others discussed the safety standards at the dangerous and chemical factories in the district, including the Bhagiratha Chemicals Limited in Chervukommu Palem, IOCL Surareddy Palem, BPCL Surareddy Palem and reviewed their emergency preparedness.

They discussed the actions to be taken if the emergency is limited to the premises of the company and if the emergency is beyond the premises and turned fatal to the public in the surrounding areas.

Venkata Murali opined that the companies should take all necessary precautions to see no technical failures happen on the premises. He ordered the officials to conduct inspections at the ground level by keeping in view of the recent incident in LG Polymers in Visakhapatnam and shared a few suggestions which need to be followed.
