Ongole : The leaders from farmers' organisations started a four-day relay hunger strike at the Prakasam district Collectorate in Ongole from Monday.

The All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee called for the relay hunger strike from December 27 to 31 in support of the farmers agitating in New Delhi against the three agriculture laws. As per the call, the local farmers started the hunger strike at district and mandal headquarters on Monday.

AIKSCC district convener Chunduri Rangarao presided over the hunger strike while Vadde Hanumareddy, Pentyla Hanumantha Rao, S Lalitha Kumari, Koduri Hanumantha Rao, Katragadda Venkata Krishna, Dhulipalla Venkateswarlu, Kankanala Anjaneyulu, Kongara Narasimham, Srinivasa Rao, Koduri Koteswara Rao participated in the hunger strike on Monday.

CPM east district secretary Punati Anjaneyulu, CPI leader Upputuri Prakasam, Ongole town Congress president Nagalakshmi, Dr R Prasada Rao, Students JAC president Rayapati Jagadeesh extended support to the farmers and demanded the government to immediately repeal the new laws, provide the constitutional guarantee for a minimum support price, cancel the fine imposed on the burning of agriculture waste, cancel the electricity reforms bill, etc.
