Narendra Prasad said that it was with his self-sacrifice only the language-based states are established in the country.

He said that Sriramulu was a great freedom fighter and after getting the independence, he did an agitation for the Telugu speaking state of Andhra. Though the central government didn't respond first, it has no other option but to announce Andhra state, as Sriramulu died due to the hunger strike for 52 continuous days.

Taking inspiration from Sriramulu, many similar agitations were undertaken for the formation of similar states. He asked the public to teach about the life of Potti Sriramulu to their children and let them know the sacrifice made by the great man for the state and country. Ongole RDO Prabhakara Reddy, municipal commissioner Niranjan Reddy, STEP CEO Narayana, municipal engineer Sundara Ramireddy and others also participated in the program.

The members from the Prakasam district unit of the Andhra Pradesh Photographers and Videographers Welfare Association also offered floral tributes to the Potti Sriramulu by garlanding his statue.

The association state vice president Idapalapati Hemanth Kumar, EC member Khagga and other members Devaiah, Thati Vidyadhar, Nageswara Rao, Rambabu, Malli and others also participated in the program.

In Chirala, the municipal commissioner Ramachandra Reddy and other local officials garlanded the Potti Sriramulu statue at the Mukkonam park and paid respects. The commissioner hailed the services of Sriramulu as the freedom fighter and also as the man who fought for the own state and sacrificed his life.
