Ongole: The Prakasam district police office announced in a statement that the Tarlupadu mandal SI A Venkateswarlu and constable Prasad, who are going in their jeep beside the Tarlupadu railway track on Friday afternoon observed a man lying on the track. They jumped into action and rescued the man immediately, who planned to end life by jumping under the train coming in a few minutes.

In the inquiry, the SI found that the man is Kongani Yedukondalu, aged 36 years and native of Tadevaripalli in Tarlupadu mandal. He is a car driver and had a quarrel with his wife over the money to be given to others. He wanted to end his life in the verge of heated argument but escaped death due to the prompt reaction by the police. The SI shifted him to the police station and counselled him and his family members after they reached there.

The SP Siddharth Kaushal appreciated the quick reaction from the SI Venkateswarlu and constable Prasad or saving a life.
