The passengers got off from the train and let tried to bring down the fire by striking water. After that, the crew also stopped the fire for a while. Officials say the train was stopped for about three hours. Authorities are investigating the incident.

The Rayalaseema Express train is named after the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. It travels through all four districts of Rayalaseema (Chittoor, Kadapa, Anantapur and Kurnool) and connects the cities of Hyderabad, Nizamabad and the famous Hindu pilgrimage city of Tirupati.

This is the second time the trains undergoing accidents in Andhra Pradesh after a train in Srikakulam narrowly escaped the danger of broken rail tracks.
