Eluru: Students Federation of India (SFI) leaders here on Thursday requested the State government to allot funds for development of Intermediate education.

SFI district secretary K Anil and other leaders submitted a memorandum to the District Vocational Education Officer, Koteshwar Rao at his office. The SFI district committee lamented that the problems in junior colleges have been increasing as there was no government funding.

They alleged that for the past seven years, the governments did not allot any funds for the Intermediate education. As a result, the labs in junior colleges lacked proper facilities. Basic infrastructure facilities were not provided in these colleges all these years, they alleged. As a result, students were put to lot of hardships, they added.
