Ongole: The Prakasam District Superintendent of Police Siddharth Kaushal has proposed 'Dasa Sutras' to provide regular services but to prevent the spreading of the coronavirus to the police personnel.

He ordered the subordinate staff in all stations to set up reception counter in the front portion to receive complaints from the people, by restricting the movement in 90 per cent space of the station unless it is necessary. He advised to set up separate entry and exit points for the complainants, who visit the station by wearing masks. Their hands should be sanitised by using foot-operated dispensers.

He instructed that the staff should work in three shifts also taking care of the duties of the writer, court constable and computer operator.

He also told the staff to ensure cleaning up of the police station premises regularly using a disinfectant such as sodium hypochlorite solution and communicate the date of cleaning to the Covid control room to keep a track.

He asked the officers to educate every person and their families on the spread and control of coronavirus and allot outdoor law and order duties to only young and energetic staff. He instructed the officers concerned to keep the detainees arrested for investigation in special detention centres and not in police stations.

He said the staff should not go to other districts or States, especially to high incidence places of coronavirus like Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan, even on duty or vacation, without permission from their respective DSPs.

Following the instructions from the SP, the police personnel of all stations in the district have made special arrangements and conducted awareness drives personally and using video-conference systems on Wednesday. They thanked the SP for ensuring the measures to protect them from coronavirus.
