YSRCP rebel MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju wrote a letter to the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission. He demanded that local body elections in the state be held immediately and asked to release the notification without any delay. Raghurama mentioned in the letter that the influence of the coronavirus has been diminished and that elections are also being held in the neighbouring states. He expressed anguish over the government in the past questioningvwhy can't elections be held when it started the schools, would postpone the election by naming Corona.
Controversy is raging over the conduct of local body elections in the AP. War is going on between Jagan government and SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh with Election Commission's decision to hold panchayat elections in February. The controversy was further exacerbated when Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney wrote a letter as a counter.
