Rajamahendravaram: Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) project director Praveen Aditya has underlined the need to develop tourism sector in the agency area with proper planning.

He reviewed the progress of tourism works with the officials of Tourism department and Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) at his office in Rampachodavaram on Tuesday.

Later, he said hundreds of tourists across the state were thronging to the agency area mainly to Maredumilli and Y Ramavaram areas and asked the officials to provide accommodation and basic facilities to the tourists.

The project officer directed the officials to identify new tourist spots and submit a report. Officials of Panchayat Raj and Tourism departments should work together to develop rural tourism, he added. Abundant opportunities available to develop tourism in the agency area, he said.

Tourism department regional joint director EN Raju, tourism officer P Venkatachalam, APTDC divisional manager Veera Narayana and others were present.
