Rajamahendravaram (East Godavari district) : Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan has made it clear that the struggle will continue until compensation is paid to farmers. He warned the government that it has to face serious consequences if the farmers are not even given the opportunity to convey their problems.

He inaugurated party regional office here on Thursday.

Later speaking at a press conference on this occasion, Pawan Kalyan warned that farmers’ tears are not good for the State and criticised the government for not paying attention to solve farmers’ problems. He pointed out that the government’s negligence on agricultural issues was realised in the farmers’ meeting held during yesterday’s visit.

The JSP chief said that a regional office has been set up in Rajahmundry to give an opportunity to farmers to express their grievances. He advised the YSRCP government to change its attitude towards farmers. Movement of grain stopped due to shortage of gunny bags was a clear proof of the government’s failure, he criticised. He said that the farmers have endured many hardships to supply rice to the State.

Pawan alleged that the government is harassing farmers, who question and express grievances, with police cases and threats. The regional office has been opened in Rajahmundry to reverse these and ensure that justice is done to the farmers, he added.
