Rajamahendravaram: The policemen have regulated the movement of people on city roads here on Tuesday in the wake of the lockdown announced by the State government. Inspite of repeated reminders, many people came on the roads on motorcycles and at many other places, the police took them to task.

Meanwhile, Urban Superintendent of Police Dr Shemushi Bajpayee personally plunged into action and inspected various places in the city and also chased some people who were found moving on the roads. The police set-up barricades at the Veerabhadrapuram area where one Coronavirus positive case was identified and announced a 500 metres area as buffer zone.

Grocery shops were allowed to open from 6 AM to 9 AM and medical shops, milk shops, gas shops, etc, were allowed to work fully in the city to avoid inconvenience to the people. The borders on the four sides of the city were closed.

The Deputy Superintendents of police in the urban district along with their men conducted patrolling in their areas making announcements asking the people to come on the roads only in case of emergency.
