Reforms will improve standards in school education: PS

He announced that the Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy will be launching the 'Nadu-Nedu' program in the state on November 14, from Prakasam district. Principal Secretary Rajasekhar, collector Dr Pola Bhaskara and other district officials inspected various places on Friday for arrangements of the chief minister's tour to the district.
The officials inspected the Kasturba High School and surrounding places in Padarti village in Kothapatnam mandal, mandal parishad schools in Vajjireddy Palem and Gamandlapalli but denied them as they are unsuitable.
They inspected the PVR Boys High School in Ongole and finalized the venue for the launch of 'Nadu-Nedu' program. The principal secretary Rajasekhar said that the government is launching the 'Nadu-Nedu' program in 45000 government schools in a phased manner.
He said that the chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy is working to make the government schools in Andhra Pradesh top all others in the country and announced that the government is spending Rs 10000 crore to provide infrastructure like drinking water, toilets, running water, electricity, furniture, classrooms, blackboards, compound walls and others.
He said that they are selecting 15000 schools in the first phase to do the repairs and complete all schools in the coming three years of time. Rajasekhar said that the government was introducing reforms in the textbooks from the next academic year.
He said that the textbooks for the Classes I to V will be revised from 2020-21, Classes VI to VIII will be revised in 2021-22 and the books of Classes IX and X will be revised in the academic year 2022-23.
He informed that the government is introducing English medium in the same phased manner in all classes in the coming three years. He said that they are competing with the education system in Delhi and going to prepare about 90000 teachers in the next January to teach in English by conducting the special training program.
He announced that the government will provide a pleasant and happy atmosphere for learning in schools by reducing the burden on the children. Collector Dr Pola Bhaskara said that YS Jaganmohan Reddy would be visiting the district for the first time as the chief minister.
He said that chief minister will inspect the PVR Boys High School as part of his visit and launch the Nadu-Nedu program in 1250 schools in the district. The program OSD Murali, district SP Siddharth Kaushal, Joint Collector S Shanmohan, AJC K Narendra Prasad, DEO VS Subbarao and other officials also participated in the programme.
