Residents of Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Pensioners Colony, Industrial Estate and Rajiv Nagar have met the civic chief and brought to his notice about water shortage to their localities. He informed them that water is being transported through 79 hired tankers to divisions which are facing water shortage on the instructions of Joint Collector D Markandeyulu, who is also Special Officer for the Chittoor Municipal Corporation. The civic chief assured them of resolving water crisis to their colonies.

Speaking to the media here on Monday after completion of Spandana programme, Corporation Commissioner has made it clear that there is no shortage of funds for transportation of drinking water.

There are 214 energised borewells functioning in the city, he added.

Obulesu stated that there is tremendous response for Spandana from people. Town Planning Officer Nagendra, Assistant Engineer Srilakha and others were present.

As District Collector N Bharath Gupta and Joint Collector D Markandeyulu took part in Spandana organised in Satyavedu, DRO has received the petitions from people at the Collectorate.
