Sankhya to elevate talent of statistics students

Vijayawada: ‘Sankhya-2k24,’ the two-day fest to elevate the talent of statistics students of various colleges in and around Vijayawada was inaugurated at Andhra Loyola College here on Thursday. Head of Statistics department of Andhra Loyola College Dr Nunna Srinivasa Rao and Vice-principal Fr Dr Kiran inaugurated the fest by lighting the traditional lamp.

Addressing the session, Fr Dr Kiran explained the importance of data collection and choice of the better goals in life. Stating statistics is the science of numbers, he spoke on qualitative aspects of human life like how to love ourselves and how to plan the life between the birth and the death of a human being. He encouraged students to participate in all the events to get better exposure.

Head of the department Dr Nunna Srinivasa Rao spoke on importance of statistics in day to day life. He advised the students to explore the opportunity given to them in a better way. He said that only Statistics subject can help to fill the gap between data collection and data interpretation by data analysts.
