Government education system requires a total revamp to produce quality professionals and officials, said Assembly Speaker T Sitaram.
Srikakulam: Government education system requires a total revamp to produce quality professionals and officials, said Assembly Speaker T Sitaram. The Speaker reviewed government education system and Badi Bata with officials at the collectorate here on Sunday.
"Education hold the key for the development of poor. We have huge number of employees in education department in different wings but output is not up to the mark. The entire system has failed in inspiring confidence among people for all these years. Now Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is seriously thinking about the total overhaul of the system with an aim to create engineers, doctors and other professionals from government schools," said Sitaram.
After district collector J Nivas briefed about condition of government education in the district, the Speaker suggested to the district administration to find both weak and strong points honestly and then start rectification measures. He warned that the current government was firm on quality education and those employees who failed to follow it would definitely face the music.
He also appealed to officials and teachers provide quality teaching with dedication by treating government schoolchildren as their own. He said he would suggest to the government soon for introduction of a scientific assessment system to identify those dedicated and negligent among the employees. "Employees work with dedication need to be given incentives and negligent employees should face punishment. Only then we can see changes in the system," he added.
