Tirupati: Stage is set for organisational elections in TDP to be held at all levels from November 18 to December 23. Party cadres are full of enthusiasm over the polls as the new office bearers can be elected in the process.

The committees will play a crucial role in party activities, that too when the panchayat elections are to be held early next year. When the party is in opposition, organisational elections may not hold such a charm when it is in power as activists would be reluctance to play active role for obvious reasons.

Still, TDP having a strong organisational set up, could induce the confidence among the party workers to be on the forefront always. During his three day visit to the district in November first week, party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu devoted much time to spend with cadres thus sending a clear message that the cadres are the backbone of the party and he would dedicate much time for them hereafter.

He underlined the importance of panchayat elections and made it clear that those who are working sincerely and always available for people will be given top priority. In this backdrop, the organisational election schedule which will be held once in every two years was released.

Party Chittoor district president Pulivarthi Nani told The Hans India that all steps had been taken to conduct these elections from village level to district level. He made it clear that as per the party's policy decision, youth and women will be given more priority with 33 per cent each.

During the first phase, elections for ward and village committees will be held. The party high command finalised the schedule and asked the district committee to complete the process for all divisions and wards in 1,372 gram panchayats, two municipal corporations, six municipalities in the district before December 23. Those having active membership in the party are eligible to vote or to contest in the elections.

Nani said that from November 18 to December 3, elections will be held for village, ward and various party wings to be followed by mandal committees and district committees.

Party has been preparing voters lists and training camps for party observers are underway.
