Tirumala: Lord Malayappa Swamy mounted on a flower-decked Surya Prabha Vahanam was taken in a procession in the four Mada Streets at Tirumala on Sunday as part of Srivari Brahmotsavams.

The deity in the form of Badrinarayana in Yoga Mundra atop the radiant Surya Prabha Vahanam enthralled the devotees who gathered in large numbers to witness the Vahana Seva held on the seventh day morning of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams on the holy hills.

According to Hindu mythology, Lord Srimannarayana lives in the midst of Surya Mandalam which is the Sun's sphere in the cosmos. Wearing a diamond gauntlet, seated majestically atop the seven horses driving Surya Prabha Vahanam, Sri Malayappa Swamy took a celestial ride along the four mada streets.

To match the occasion, the Lord was decorated with a huge garland made of red colour ixora flowers which enhanced the beauty of Lord. Devotees were mused by the charm of the Lord on Surya Prabha Vahanam.

Chief Secretary L V Subramanayam along with his family participated in the Vahana Seva and offered prayers to Malayappa and Suryanarayana riding a chariot pulled by seven horses.

TTD Chairman Y V Subba Reddy, TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal, Additional EO A V Dharma Reddy, Temple Dy EO Harindranath, Peishkar Lokanadham and others were present.

Later in the pleasant evening on the seventh day of Brahmotsavams, Malayappa Swamy as Dhanwantari, the Lord of Medicine, glided swiftly along the four Mada streets to bless His devotees.

Moon is often considered to cast His spell for the healthy growth of medicinal seedlings and green vegetation. He is worshipped for his cool attitude, charm and pleasantness.

By taking ride on Chandra Prabha Vahanam as Dhanwantari, Lord sent a message that when His blessings are there, the entire biome will prosper in a healthy manner.
