In an interesting twist, the former chief minister and TDP national president have announced the candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections despite not having the number. Chandrababu has decided to fray senior leader and former RTC chairman Varla Ramaiah on behalf of his party.

The TDP chief said that he is fielding the candidate in the election only to showcase the YSRCP party's insensitive policies.

Earlier, the YSRCP on Monday has announced Ayodhya Ramireddy, Parimal Nathwani, Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and Mopidevi Venkataramana as the candidates for Rajya Sabha elections. As the elections of these four Rajya Sabha members is one-sided, the YSRCP strength in the Rajya Sabha will reach six.
