A team of former software engineers and trekkers has come forward to develop greenery on hills in Vijayawada city.

Vijayawada: A team of former software engineers and trekkers has come forward to develop greenery on hills in Vijayawada city. As part of it, they have made plans to plant 1,000 saplings on Gandhi Hill and also to remove plastic wastes including plastic covers in the premises.

They will start the planting of saplings on Gandhi Hill from June 5 and will also expand it to all the hills in the city in phased manner. The programme was designed by "Vruksho Rakshati Rakshitaha" voluntary organisation under the leadership of B Yagna Narayana who is former Project Manager of Software Company.

A team of youth who have the habit of trekking also joined him as social responsibility to develop greenery. Some of his former colleagues and voluntary organisations extended their support. B Yagna Narayana, said to The Hans India that the future generations would be protected and disasters could be avoided by protecting the nature. He said that 8,953 trees are in Canada country an average per each person, but only 28 trees are in India per person.
