Bandi Sucharita of Krishna district who got admitted in Harvard University describes ‘Videshi Vidya Deevena’ as a boon for students
Vijayawada: The dreams of 213 SC, ST, BC, Minorities and economically backward upper castes students on pursuing education abroad came true with the financial assistance provided by the State government under Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena.
Thanking the Chief Minister for the help, one of the students Bandi Sucharita of Krishna district who got admitted in Harvard University and was studying Masters in Global Health and Population while interacting with the Chief Minister through a video-conference from Boston said that the Videshi Vidya Deevena turned as a boon for students and described it as a revolutionary step in education sector.
Speaking to the Chief Minister, another student Alladi Jyothirmayi of Eluru, studying PG in Public Health in Warwick University said that a great opportunity to study in such prestigious university has become possible with the financial assistance extended by the AP government. She said that she had earlier pursued her education in social welfare schools and colleges.
Another student Nirusha Devi of Konaseema district studying MBA (International Business) in the University of Birmingham said that the measures taken by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy instilled confidence among students. She said that students from several other States in the country who were studying in the same university told her that they had no such opportunity of government's financial support in their States. She said that it is a dream-come-true for them to pursue higher education abroad.
Another student Yogendra Naga Sativik of Krishna district studying MSc in data science in Glasgow University said that he want to pursue Ph D and serve as a professor to impart knowledge to number of students like him.
He said that though his family with poor economic background could not afford to educate him abroad, but it has become possible with the financial assistance from AP government.
