Seven patients get discharged in Tirupati

Tirupati: In a series of Covid-19 positive cases reporting every day in Chittoor district, 15 new cases were reported on Monday and it took the district tally to 192 besides 11 Ajmer cases which were being shown separately under Rajasthan quota. The number of active cases are 103 with 89 discharges so far.

Among the new cases 13 were having Koyambedu links while one other case is reported in Srikalahasti which is said to be the contact of CA student who returned from Guntur. Tirupati rural mandal got one more case on Sunday evening as a young man was tested positive. As he got a job in a private company, his employers asked him to undergo Covid test in which he is found positive.

He has been residing in an apartment in Thummalagunta village which has now become a containment area. On Monday his close relative also said to be tested positive though it will be mentioned in official bulletin on Tuesday only. District Collector Dr N Bharat Gupta, Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy visited the apartment and reviewed the situation there.

Meanwhile, seven patients were discharged on Monday as they are cured. They include Nagalapuram 4 and one each from Varadaiahpalem and V Kota and were discharged from Sri Padmavathi Covid care centre. DM&HO Dr M Penchalaiah and TUDA Secretary and centre incharge S Lakshmi have given away discharge certificates to them. From state Covid hospital in SVIMS, a staff nurse of that institute who got positive earlier has been discharged.
