Tirupati: Task Force officials seize 75 red-sanders logs, arrest 2 smugglers
In a major haul, RSASTF (Redsanders Anti-smuggling Task Force) on Friday seized 75 red sander logs, two vehicles and arrested two smugglers.
Tirupati: In a major haul, RSASTF (Redsanders Anti-smuggling Task Force) on Friday seized 75 red sander logs, two vehicles and arrested two smugglers.
Acting on a tip off, two task force teams took up combing of the forests from Srivarimettu to Alipiri on Thursday evening. When they reached NCC firing range, near Aravindo Eye Hospital, 5 km away from Alipiri, they found a gang of about 20 smugglers coming down the hills carrying red sander logs for loading them in the vehicle down the hills near Bypass Road.
The smugglers attacked the Task Force personnel with stones and fled from the scene. However, the task force teams after much efforts managed to nab two smugglers
who were identified as Rajesh and Kuppuswamy of Polur taluk of Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu. The personnel recovered 75 red sander logs.
Task Force In-charge who visited the area patted the personnel for their brave operation.
