TTD’s Srinivasam has been getting ready to become another Covid care centre in Tirupati.

Tirupati: TTD's Srinivasam has been getting ready to become another Covid care centre in Tirupati. The present Covid care centre Sri Padmavati Nilayam where asymptomatic positive patients are admitted has already accommodated nearly 600 patients among which 35 got discharged on Tuesday evening. Ruia Hospital is also over crowded with more than 150 patients while critical patients will be admitted to SVIMS – Sri Padmavati state Covid hospital.

The district is having nearly 950 active cases at present and some of them are also admitted into district Covid hospital in Chittoor. In this backdrop, the district administration has initiated steps to make Srinivasam pilgrims amenities complex as Covid care centre to accommodate patients having asymptomatic to very mild patients.

It may be recalled that TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal on Monday directed the officials to handover the complex to the District Collector. Following this, Municipal Corporation Commissioner PS Girisha, Joint Collector – Development V Veerabrahmam along with other officials visited Srinivasam on Tuesday and reviewed the steps to be taken there to bring the facility into use.
