Sailajanath demands white paper on nominated posts filled with persons belonging to SCs as per the proportional representation of their population

Vijayawada: The State government has been showing discrimination against the persons belonging to Scheduled Castes and Tribes in implementing the assurances given to them during the elections, said APCC president Dr Sake Sailajanath in an open letter to Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Dr Sailajanath recalled that Jagan Mohan Reddy extended a number of assurances to the SCs and STs during the Padayatra and even more assurances after coming to power. He would like to bring the same to the notice of the Chief Minister regarding discrimination by the government, he said.

The PCC chief recalled that sizeable number of people belonging the SCs and STs voted in favour of the YSRCP and there are 27 SCs and 7 STs among the 151 YSRCP MLAs. In spite of the huge support, both the communities were being discriminated, he rued.

A number of Dalits were humiliated, attacked and discriminated during the last one-year rule of the YSRCP, he said. For instance, Dr Sudhakar was severely humiliated because he was Dalit and he was taken back into the job and so is the case of Dr Anita.

For reasons better known to the government, the SC Corporation has been divided into three corporations. How much funds were allotted to these three corporations and how many persons were given help by giving loans? The PCC chief wanted to know as to whether the rule that the persons belonging to Scheduled Castes should be given loans up to Rs 5 crore without any collateral security exists or not.

How many nominated posts were filled with Scheduled Caste persons as per the proportional representation of their population, Dr Sailajanath asked and demanded the government to release a white paper on the same. Referring to the cash disbursal to various sections, the PCC chief demanded financial help of Rs 15,000 to each of the Scheduled Caste women.

Dr Sailajanth demanded a white paper on the number of SC and ST persons got benefited during the one-year rule of the YSRCP.
