Vijayawada: Denizens heaved a sigh of relief on Monday evening from the scorching heat and summer with change in weather conditions as temperature dropped and clouds hovered over the city.
Some parts of the city have witnessed a few showers for some time giving a slight relief.
Till afternoon, the city witnessed scorching heat and main roads wore a deserted look. But all of a sudden, the temperature dropped and city turned cool in the evening.
The citizens have suffered hardships in May due to severe heat wave and sultry conditions. The impact of coronavirus was also visible during the month and people were reluctant to come out due to lockdown restrictions.
The denizens have faced unforgettable summer in May due to Covid-19 as well as scorching heat. It is predicted the monsoon may arrive in the State before the second week of June and IMD has already reported that the South West monsoon arrived in Kerala as predicted on Monday.
