Vijayawada: The state government allocated Rs 11,419.48 crore for health and family welfare in the budget presented by finance minister B Rajendranath Reddy on Tuesday.

Last year, the allocation (revised) was Rs.7408.75 crore. Aargoyasri gets top priority with Rs 2,100 crore. Budget allocation for Aarogyasri increased by 695 crore.

Compared to the previous financial year estimates, the budget allocation to health and family welfare has been increased by 54 per cent.

Following are the allocation for various schemes and development works in the state budget. Rs 1808.03 crore allocated for National Health Mission (NHM), Rs.1528 crore for Naadu-Nedu scheme for the development of infrastructure facilities in the hospitals, Rs 1,122.66 crore for medical colleges and Rs 743.24 crore for primary health centres.

A total of Rs 710 crore was allocated to give assistance to Andhra Pradesh Vaidya Vidhan Parishad, Rs 400 crore to centralised purchase of drugs and medicines, Rs 266.17 crore for 108 services, Rs.242.51 family welfare centres, Rs 204.12 crore, Rs 2294.74 crore for honorarium to Asha workers and other students. 108 services vehicles will be upgraded as per the announcement of the state budget.
