Vijayawada: The Krishna district administration has decided to conduct at least 2,000 Covid-19 tests in the district and arranged 10 Imasq buses (Intelligence Monitoring Analysis Service Quarantine), which are used to collect swab samples to conduct tests.

These mobile buses would be stationed in Vijayawada, Machilipatnam, Jaggaiahpet, Nuzvid and Ibrahimpatnam and start functioning from Tuesday.

With the district reporting corona positive cases every day for the past one-and-half-month, the total cases in the district crossed 1,000 mark and the district administration has planned to conduct atleast 2,000 tests per day to contain the spread of the pathogen effectively. In Vijayawada, the Imasq buses were placed at Municipal Stadium in Ajit Singh Nagar, near Gunadala Mary mata temple, Gandhiji Municipal Corporation High School, IGMC Stadium and Krishna lanka.

People can visit these centres and get their samples tested. Call centre also arranged with number 996311278 to register the names. Each mobile centre has 10 counters. Interested can also log on to http//covid-.andrapradesh.verahealthcare.com to register their names.

District Collector Md Imtiazm in a press release on Monday, said if people are suffering from cold, cough, fever and loss of taste can visit the mobile testing centres. He said they can also contact the helpline number 996311278 to register their names for the testing and they will get SMS for the timeslot.

He said so far, 683 persons recovered from the ailment were discharged from three Covid-19 hospitals in the district. By Monday, the district registered 1,115 cases with 15 new cases reported during the last 24 hours.
