Vijayawada: Municipal Commissioner Prasanna Venkatesh asked the municipal department officials to get ready for the municipal polls to be conducted on March 23. He conducted a review meeting with the officials on successful and peaceful conduct of polls in the city.
He instructed the officials to complete the works for setting up distribution counters for distribution of materials to the staff at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation stadium.
He said reception counters and strong rooms are arranged at the Loyola College and asked them to appoint staff, route officers and prepare route maps for the election work. He enquired about the facilities like toilets, drinking water, first aid, lighting to be arranged at the offices of the Returning officers and polling centres.
He asked the officials to take measures for the removal of flexes, banners, posters of political parties in view of the implementation of election code of conduct.
