Vijayawada: Women's Day celebrations were in a grand manner at the APSRTC Employees Union office at RTC House here on Sunday. The Amaravati JAC has organised the event. Co-chairman of the Amaravati JAC women's wing Mehraj Sultana was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Sultana demanded that the government extend benefits on par with other government employees to 5500 women conductors working in the APSRTC.
She said the Amaravati JAC would fight for the rights of the women working in the RTC. Another JAC leader Satya Mangalamba, RTC Employees Union state secretary TV Bhavani, other leaders MS Lakshmi Bharati, Sarojini and others were present on the occasion. EU president YV Rao, general secretary P Damodara Rao and others greeted the women on the occasion of International Women's Day.
