Visakhapatnam: On the occasion of the 52nd Submarine Day, a wreath laying ceremony was conducted at the Submarine Cenotaph, INS Virbahu on Sunday.

Project Director, Ship Building Centre, Vice Admiral Kalidoss Srinivas laid a wreath at the Cenotaph to honour all the submariners, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of nation, serving the Submarine Arm. A 50-men guard of honour was presented to mark the day.

The day commemorates the induction of first Indian navy's submarine, the erstwhile INS Kalvari, on December 8,1967 when the Naval Ensign was proudly unfurled as the submarine was commissioned into the service at Riga (erstwhile Soviet Union).
