Vizianagaram: Tug of war is raging between two factions in the YSRCP, one led by Minister for Municipal Administration of Botcha Satyanarayana and MLA K Veerabhadraswamy over the process of selection of Mayoral candidate. The two factions are fighting to secure the candidature for the Mayoral post to their respective supporter.
The Minister and the MLA are fighting tooth and nail to outsmart each other. Both the leaders are considering the post as prestigious.
Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation ahs 60 wards. Friday is the last date for filing nominations. Swamy worked overtime to promote his daughter Sravani's candidature for Mayoral post. She has been participating the service programmes and also in party activities. With the Mayoral post being reserved for Backward Class (woman), the MLA was totally upset. Now he is planning to secure the party ticket for one of his supporters to contest.
Swamy claimed that he was authorised to announce candidates for all 50 wards. Even the party high command also clarified previously it. This was discussed with the senior leaders of the party.
