Due to lack of permanent water resources, people in several villages are facing drinking water scarcity. In Regidi mandal, residents of Kagithapalli, Parampeta, Voppangi, Kondavalasa, Kurusankili, Devudala, Poram villagers are depending on water resources like local tanks.

In G Sigadam mandal, the existing water schemes are unable to meet drinking water needs in Geddakancharam, Chettupodilam and Yenduva villages.

Water is being supplied weekly once in Baruva, Sompeta, Lakkavaram, Palasapuram villages in Sompeta mandal. Fishermen villages, Akuvuru, Uppalam and Gollavuru in the same mandal are waiting for safe water for last several years.

Protected drinking water is not available in Kaligam, Bammidi, Parapuram, Labba, Metturuguda, Jogipadu, Anguru villages Kotturu mandal.

In agency villages, Kerasingi, Bharanikota, Parasurampuram, Chapara in Meliaputti mandal are carrying water from local rivulets. In the wake of summer, the district officials have prepared summer action plan.

As part of it, rural water supply, panchayat raj engineering wing officials and staff are collecting affected and damaged water resources in several villages across the district.

"We have reviewed the situation in all villages where water resources are going to dry and will supply water in all required villages through other alternative measures" District Collector J Nivas told The Hans India.
