Guntur: Even after implementing the Disha Act, the sexual assault cases on women are raising in AP. Recently, a married woman has committed suicide over sexual harassment at Tadepalli in Guntur district.

According to the sources, Sujatha, a native of Mangalagiri got married to V Nagaraju of Brahmanandapuram village in Tadepalli Mandal in 2014. Nagaraju works as a delivery boy in Flipkart.

In this context, a man named Balashowry, who stays in the next door was sexually harassing Sujatha for the past some time. He offered her to get a house from government and other benefits if she fulfils his desire. As she refused his proposal, he threatened her. Over this, Sujatha remained silent without disclosing the matter with her husband.

Taking this as an advantage, Balashowry came to Sujatha's house on Sunday night when her husband was out and pressured her. As she screamed, Balashowry flew away from the site.

On the incident, Sujatha became very upset and committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling fan in the house on Monday. Upon receiving the information, Tadepalli police have registered a case and investigation further.
