YS Jagan reviews over supreme court verdict on Panchayat elections, likely to take key decision

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted a review on the distribution of dairy cattle, sheep and goats to women beneficiaries of YSR and Asara. The meeting was attended by Panchayati Raj Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Sidiri Appalaraju and officials from the respective departments. The CM closely reviewed the beneficiaries by district and the dairy cattle to be provided to them. The government plans to distribute 2,11,780 cows, 2,57,211 buffaloes, 1,51,671 sheep and 97,480 goats.


It is reported that animal given to the beneficiaries will be physically verified by the officials of the Department of Animal Husbandry. The list of beneficiaries will be registered under RBK. The veterinarian will review the health of the animal each month. From time to time the veterinarians will record the details in the health card issued to the dairy cattle. The milk yield of dairy cattle will also be recorded. Dairy cattle will be distributed from November 26 onwards. The Chief Minister will start distribution in 4,000 villages on a virtual basis. Initially, they will be implemented in Prakasam, YSR Kadapa and Chittoor districts. The government plans to distribute it in other districts in phases later.

During the review meeting, CM YS Jagan said that the investment should definitely be affordable and therefore care should be taken in the selection of species. "Purge Committee must be strong, which should definitely have people with technical expertise. In addition to the insurance company representative, the banker should also be a member of that committee. Veterinary services should also be strengthened and vacant posts should be filled, "he said.

The CM directed that in case of any problem with the dairy cattle, they should be treated immediately within the RBKs. At that level the authorities were instructed to be prepared. The CM directed that the video conferencing facilities being set up under RBK should be utilised for veterinary medicine and call centres should be set up to ensure healing through them. Ensure regular supply of animal feed that should be free of chemicals. He said that the feeding should be done with natural ingredients as the diseases like cancer are on the rise due to food contaminated with chemicals. "A large platter should be laid for organic methods. Preference should be given to organic (organic) milk and organic meat products. This is likely to result in a higher price. The organic milk brand needs to be further promoted," YS Jagan said. CM YS Jagan further suggested that women should be made more aware of this.

CM YS Jagan conducted a review on retail outlets set up by women in villages under the Cheyutha and Asara schemes. So far, 78,000 shops have been opened in urban and rural areas combined, officials said. The CM also directed to take options from the 2.78 lakh new beneficiaries under Cheyutha. CM YS Jagan directed that they should also see to it that they get a sustainable livelihood.
