Vijayawada: The YSRCP government implemented 90 per cent of the assurances made in the election manifesto in the last seven months after assuming power, said Central MLA Malladi Vishnu.

Addressing media here on Saturday, the MLA said the government has allocated Rs 3,500 crore in the first phase for the development of schools under Naadu-Nedu which would be implemented in three phases.

Referring to the current Assembly session, the MLA said 19 bills were passed in the session, giving priority to the welfare of weaker sections and women. When the Assembly was discussing the important Disha Bill to prevent atrocities against women and children, the Opposition leader wanted to discuss the scarcity of onions, he lamented. Vishnu recalled that the government was providing onions at Rs 25 a kg which is unprecedented in the country.

He took exception to the behaviour of the Opposition leader for attempting to stall the proceedings when the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was trying to run the session smoothly.

The MLA informed that a huge rally would be take out from BRTS Road to Pipula Road on December 21 in connection with the birthday of the Chief Minister. "Massive propaganda would be launched from the last week of January in all divisions in the city till the elections to the municipal corporation to inform everyone about the government welfare schemes," he said.

Vishnu said that about 2,000 auto rickshaw owners were benefitted through Auto Mitra scheme in the Central Assembly constituency. Stating that the earlier government indulged in corruption, he said the YSRCP government was striving to give corruption-free administration to the people. He said a White Paper would be released soon on the achievements of the government.

Referring to the dumping yard problem in the assembly segment, he said that 60 per cent of the garbage was cleared and the rest would be cleared soon.
