Hyderabad: Navratna defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has paid a total dividend of 340 per cent on its paid up capital to the Government of India for financial year 2018-19.

M V Gowtama, Chairman & Managing Director, BEL, presented the 170 per cent final dividend cheque for Rs 231.69 crore, payable on the shares held by the President of India, to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, at New Delhi on Thursday.

Barun Mitra, ASDP, and Koshy Alexander, Director (Finance), BEL, were present. The Interim Dividend of 170 per cent was paid to the Government of India in February and March 2019.

BEL ended FY19 on a high note, achieving a turnover of Rs 11,789.22 crore and registering a growth of 16.90 per cent over the previous year.

The Profit After Tax (PAT) increased by 37.73 per cent over the previous year to Rs.1,927.29 crore.
