A seasoned technology professional Sourabh Sanghi, shared insights on driving digital transformation through strategic cloud migration, DevOps automation, and robust security practices. With over 15 years of experience, he emphasised the importance of planning, automation, and continuous learning to succeed in the evolving cloud landscape

Based in Plano, Texas, Sourabh Sanghi is a seasoned technology professional with over 15 years of experience specialising in cloud migration and DevOps automation. Holding a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology from JNTU Hyderabad, Sourabh combines a strong educational foundation with practical expertise to help organisations navigate the complexities of digital transformation.

“My interest in cloud technologies comes from a desire to be at the forefront of digital transformation,” Sourabh explains. “The cloud excites me because it enables businesses to scale efficiently and innovate faster. Working in cloud migration and DevOps lets me merge my passion for technology and automation while making a real impact on how companies operate.”

When approaching cloud migration projects, Sourabh emphasises meticulous planning and strategic execution. “I start by analysing the current infrastructure and application requirements to understand both technical needs and business goals,” he shares. “Key factors like performance, cost optimisation, security compliance, and operational efficiency guide my roadmap. Defining clear milestones is crucial to keep the project on track.”

One of his most challenging projects involved migrating a large-scale application from on-premise infrastructure to AWS under tight deadlines and with complex dependencies. “We faced obstacles with data migration and service integration,” he recalls. “By adopting a phased migration and forming a cross-functional team, we addressed issues swiftly. Daily standups and custom automation scripts reduced human error and accelerated the timeline.”

Automation remains central to Sourabh’s DevOps philosophy. “Automating repetitive, time-consuming tasks is essential to improving efficiency,” he states. “I frequently use Python and Shell scripts and have built CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins. Automating security scans and environment setups frees teams to focus on innovation and speeds delivery.”

Security is a top priority in his cloud infrastructure designs. “I ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance,” he notes. “For example, I’ve automated PCI compliance scans using tools like Sonar and Fortify within CI/CD pipelines and apply the principle of least privilege in access controls. Monitoring and alerting systems are also vital for quick threat detection.”

Sourabh relies on a range of tools including Terraform and AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure as code, Kubernetes for container orchestration, Jenkins for CI/CD, Git for version control, and monitoring tools like Grafana and Splunk. “These technologies help maintain operational visibility and optimise performance across cloud environments,” he explains.

Managing Kubernetes deployments, he says, requires a “robust architecture focused on scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery.” Using Helm charts, automated scaling, and comprehensive monitoring ensures reliability and quick issue resolution.

Looking ahead, Sourabh aims to lead large-scale digital transformation initiatives leveraging cloud-native technologies, with a focus on serverless architecture, MLOps, and multi-cloud strategies. “I’m committed to advancing both my technical skills and leadership capabilities, pursuing advanced certifications and tackling increasingly complex projects,” he says.

To those entering the field, Sourabh advises building a strong foundation in software development, infrastructure, networking, and security. “Hands-on experience and continuous learning, including certifications like AWS Architect or CKAD, are key to success. Stay curious and experiment constantly.”

Sourabh’s dedication to staying current through technical communities, webinars, and mentoring reflects his passion for innovation and growth. “Learning is a lifelong journey,” he affirms, “and sharing knowledge helps everyone move forward.”
