Hyderabad: The Telangana government is open for dialogue with startups based out of this State to procure their solution relevant to the government, omitting the procurement process, said a government official.

Speaking at the launch of HealthTech Arcade at T-Hub, Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, ITE and C, Telangana, said that the Telangana government is ahead of other State governments in regard to policy support for startups.

"We have gone miles ahead and done away with the procurement process, while other State governments are talking about level playing field and simplifying the procurement process."

Ranjan, further said: "If a homegrown startup has a product or solution which is relevant to the government, we can procure it bilaterally without any procurement process."

Mentioning about the ecosystem for startups working in the healthtech domain, he said that the State has more than 50 incubation and co-working spaces out of which 18 of them have a focus on medtech and healthtech.

'The ecosystem in Hyderabad is supportive of startups working on solutions in healthcare. Recently, the government has signed a contract with a blockchain startup which has a solution for counterfeiting of drugs.

Also, another startup's solution to look forward is Zipline, which works towards delivery of medicine and others with the usage of drones,' he added.

T-Hub, a business incubation centre on Friday announced the launch of its HealthTech Arcade programme in partnership with Optum Health Services, a technology-enabled health solutions business and part of the United Health Group.

This edition of the arcade series aims to connect corporates with startups that provide solution in chronic and poly-chronic disease management.

Under this, 20 startups showcased their products and solutions to Optum and other industry and investors.
