Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers to open five jewellery showrooms in US
Jewellery brand Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers (VBJ) on Wednesday said it would open five jewellery showrooms in the United States.
Hyderabad: Jewellery brand Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers (VBJ) on Wednesday said it would open five jewellery showrooms in the United States. The Chennai-based company has three showrooms in India – two in Chennai and one in Bengaluru.
"We have been holding exhibitions of our jewellery in the US, which received good response. As a next step, we will open five showrooms in the US to tap demand for Indian jewellery there. First of our US showrooms will come up next year," Amarendran Vummidi, Managing Partner, VBJ, told the media here.
The company, whose turnover is about Rs 1,000 crore, will invest close to Rs 500 crore on the US showrooms. According to him, customers are preferring diamond jewellery to gold these days. "Most of the growth for us is coming from diamond jewellery which now accounts for 50 per cent of our sales," he maintained.
VBJ, in jewellery business since the year 1900, is holding an exclusive exhibition of its jewellery collection in the city. The two-day exhibition is set to conclude on Thursday (today). "Our customers travel all the way from Hyderabad to purchase jewellery.
We are glad to get the opportunity to reciprocate the loyalty of our customers here who have been patronising our brand over the last century. The exhibition is meant to provide a unique buying experience to them," Amarendran said.
