Unlike her family of professionals, Tanya Manavalan was interested in creating content around beauty and skincare. While her father showed support for her decision to start making vlogs on Trell, her mother and extended family were not very happy with this choice.

Tanya shares, "When I was a child, my parents wanted me to follow my dreams and be whoever I want to be. When I told them I want to teach, they were happy to support me. But when I told them that I also want to create makeup videos and review skincare products as I have always been passionate about it, everyone in my family said that no one will take me seriously. But I think that we should all be able to do whatever we want to do. Just because I am a lecturer does not mean that I can't do super fun things like makeup. I have always been super passionate about makeup and skincare. I like researching products and taking my time to understand how they work and so I like to talk about this whenever I can. I like to be authentic and not biased and so I share my actual experiences with products and makeup based on whether they worked for me or not."

A lot of her family members have questioned her decision to put up videos on makeup and product reviews but Tanya continues to follow her passion. However, as a young 24-year-old, the thought that her choices may be disappointing for her family, continues to loom over her head.

But instead of letting this sinking feeling impact her love for all-things-beauty, she has embraced the love of her followers and the platform. Her product reviews are authentic and very engaging, which has made her one of the most-loved beauty vloggers on the platform.

With close to 50K followers and her passion for educating users about different products, she has amassed a large following and even bagged multiple brand collaborations, helping her make close to Rs 18,000 every month. Recently, she was even part of a campaign with Tinder, where she made a video in which she gave her followers tips on preparing for a virtual date. Her success through doing something that she is wholeheartedly dedicated to has begun to open her family's eyes to the potential of content creation.

Sharing about the initial challenges, Tanya shares, "The challenge I usually face is that I like to take my time to fully understand how well the product has worked for me not. It is impossible to give a fair and accurate review of a skincare product without trying it out for some time. Reviewing makeup is easier as using it once can help you understand whether it will work or not. And so sometimes I feel I'm a little late to review products when almost every other influencer takes out a review the very next day after the product launch."

All her videos come packed with useful information about products, helping users make informed choices about whether they should buy a product or not. This has made her a vlogger who can be trusted to give good, solid advice and guidance.

She explains complicated and scientific skin routines with ease, which makes her content very relatable and easy to follow. Thanks to all the appreciation she has received from her community on the platform, Tanya has got the confidence to continue creating videos along with taking up the job of teaching at a school in Bengaluru. She has realized that she actually likes teaching as well and she has the power to be two people at once; a creative content creator and a wonderful teacher.
