Hyderabad: Dr Y Satya Prasad, a doctor by profession and an entrepreneur by passion, from USA, visited GITAM Hyderabad Business School, GITAM Hyderabad on Tuesday and delivered a talk on "Artificial Intelligence (AI) 2019 : Opportunities for Future Entrepreneurs and Managers".

Dr Prasad emphasised on the fact that, one should be intelligent enough in sensing, acting and reasoning, to learn new technologies quickly. While explaining the difference between deep learning and machine learning he cited the breakthrough inventions like smart phones, data transmission standards and cloud-based data stores which lead to paradigm shift in the lifestyle.

Dr Prasad opined that personalised shopping, healthcare, robotic surgery, transportation of goods using drones, necessitated the need to learn different skill sets to clinch career opportunities in implementing and managing AI based solutions. He advised the management graduates to be able to learn and develop the skill to scan the business environment effectively to identify the employment and the entrepreneurial opportunities as well.

Students interacted with Dr Prasad with inquisitive questions which covered the impact of AI on the employment scenario, consequences of AI becoming smarter than the human beings and the accountability in a robotic surgery which triggered thought provoking discussions between the students and the speaker.

The learned doctor concluded that unless an individual constantly and consistently updates his/her knowledge through developing contemporary learning skills, it will be increasingly difficult to reach greater heights in professional career.
