Hyderabad: The city-based B-school Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM) organised a business conclave on the theme "Re-Imaging the Box: The Design Thinking Way". Eminent speakers from the industry shared their views with the students.

Addressing the conclave, Aleti Rama Brahmam, Co-founder and Director- Experience Design, Think Design introduced the concepts of design thinking and spoke about the three important aspects of a good design viz., empathy, creativity and rationality. Rajeev Balakrishnan, Design Thinking Practitioner and Talent Management Specialist enlightened the students about the design thinking methodology by showcasing an example on application of design thinking in developing a novel solution to a company's problem.

The Chief Designer and Executive Director, Divami Design Labs, Prathima Inolu, talked about design thinking in product development and opined that design thinking is a methodology that helps figure out what delivers value to the customer and to come up with the best way to deliver that value. Flt. Lt. Sridhar Chakravarthi, Design Thinking practitioner and start-up coach described design thinking as a process of designing innovative solutions that can actually work in creating an indelible experience for the customers. S Swaroop Sharma, Former VP-Manufacturing and Total Quality Management (TQM), JSW Steels shared his experience in steel industry and concluded that design thinking can do for innovation what TQM did for quality that is by bringing in a teachable methodology on new ways of thinking that will eventually help in creating design thinking organisations.
