Hyderabad: "The Life in Stories, Life as Stories: Hamlet and narrative reanimation" by Prof. Anna Kurian, Professor at the Department of English, School of Humanities, University of Hyderabad has been published in the prestigious journal Shakespeare in Southern Africa.

This article studies Shakespeare's employment of narrative and storytelling in terms of 'life after death' in Hamlet. It argues that Shakespeare posits and postulates the possibility of life after death not in spiritual terms but in terms of the narratives that one leaves behind, in the stories, enunciated and heard by others, that perpetuate, after a fashion, one's life.

Prof. Anna Kurian teaches courses in canonical Anglo-American Literature in the Department of English at the University of Hyderabad. Her areas of interest include Children's and YA Literature, Shakespeare Studies and Early Modern Drama, as well as pedagogic issues related to English Studies in India. She has published in these areas in journals such as ANQ, Radical Teacher and English Teaching: Practice and Critique among others.
