After successfully launching first payload into the stratosphere in July, the students of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) added another feather to their cap by sending a second payload, SWAEROSAT-2 at 2.35 am on Thursday.

Hyderabad: After successfully launching first payload into the stratosphere in July, the students of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) added another feather to their cap by sending a second payload, SWAEROSAT-2 at 2.35 am on Thursday. The payload was launched successfully in a high altitude balloon, in collaboration with Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Hyderabad. It is an experimental payload built to study atmospheric pollutants like methane gas and carbon monoxide, and also radiation and temperature levels.

Secretary Dr RS Praveen Kumar congratulated the students for their remarkable scientific endeavours and said, these experiments will be long remembered as the special and memorable moments in the history of the TSWREIS. The secretary thanked Dr Ojha, chairperson, TIFR, Sandip Trivedi, Director., and Suneel Kumar, scientist-in-charge for their support and encouragement in popularizing space research programmes among students hailing from the most deprived sections of the society.
