Warriors pip Tigers to emerge champions

Hyderabad: Warriors clinched a narrow 7 goals to 6 victory over Tigers to be lift the Winners of Prince of Berar Polo Cup on April 14. The Final was more than a game, it was a battle! A game very strongly fought by both teams down the wire for a nail - biting finish wherein till the final whistle was blown it was hard for the spectators to predict the winner.

The man of the match in the finals was the local favorite Chaitania Kumar who led the Team warriors (blue) from the front by scoring five goals out of the seven in the finals and was well supported by Vishal who scored 2 goals and Amoghn/Raghuram.

Nayeem better known as Adil in the Polo fraternity was the top score for Tigers (white) with five goals and was well supported by Sidharath, who scored one goal ably assisted by Shabhaz and Amjad.

All visiting teams and players are now looking forward to the next tournament 'HPRC Arena Polo Cup' finals which will be played on April 20. The Cavalry Welfare Association Cup instituted for the first time will have a generous contribution made by HPRC to association and has been named as "Cavalry – HPRC Cup". The competition will be held on April 21, a press release said on Thursday.

The Prince of Berar Cup witnessed four teams - Chargers (Green), Tigers (White), Devils (Black) and

Warriors (Blue) – vying for the prestigious Prince of Berar Polo Cup and the spectators had got to see the game they were eagerly looking for. Completely engrossed, they greatly loved cheering for both the finalist teams from the stands. What a better way to spend a Sunday evening for the spectators who enjoyed the game of arena polo under lights.

One could not have asked for a much better start to the 2019 Hyderabad Arena Polo Season wherein all games were played under floodlight at the Arena Polo Field conducted and organised by the Hyderabad Polo and Riding Club (HPRC).
