Mysuru: Two years after the incident, where in 104 people fell ill and 17 people died after they consumed prasada laced with poison at Kichguth Maramma temple at Sulwadi in Hanur taluk, in Chamarajnagar district on 14 December 2018, the victims and their relatives who are still in shock grieved that the government is yet to fulfill all its promises to them.

The victims of temple tragedy from the villages near Sulwadi including those from Kaudalli gram panchayat and those from Martalli gram panchayat limits including Bidralli alleged that most of the promises made by government on getting them lands, houses and jobs are still not fulfilled, they said.

Speaking to The Hans India, teachers Loord Stephen, and John Britto from Martalli said that, though Martalli gram panchayat limits is the biggest one in entire Chamarajnagar taluk, which has highest number of teachers their demand for high school here is still not met. Their demand to upgrade Martalli gram panchayat Primary Health Care centre to Community Health Care centre is still pending, they said.

Meanwhile Kichguth Maramma temple at Sulwadi in Hanur taluk, in Chamarajnagar district, which has been now brought under endowment department, and was re opened for general public 24 October this year after the incident, is having over 100 devotees a day, while it earlier had atleast 300 devotees per day. Temple authorities are still not distributing Prasada at the temple.
