Researchers called this sleep pattern "social jet lag" and linked its effects to heart disease. In fact, researchers found that for every hour your sleep schedule shifts, you increase your risk of heart disease by 11 per cent.

A Korean genetic study conducted on 1620 people in the year 2013 reported that, the male night owls in the study were more likely to have diabetes and the women developed high blood sugar along with the abnormal and excess body fat around the waistline.

"To get rid of this addiction of video games and lack of sleep at night, One must have a goal for the next day morning while getting to bed, so that a person will feel responsible and sleep early.

Commitment to restrict the number of hours of phone usage in the nights will definitely help and an option in every phone called sleep mode must be used and it will definitely help to get rid of phone addiction and sleeplessness. Lack of physical activities is also a draw back in lifestyle and must quickly start a physical activity to boost up the sleep pattern," said Dr Divya, a psychologist.

Children and adults are going to bed in the wee hours of the morning, staying awake all the night. This modern addiction is harmful. Lack of goals is a reason avers, Dr Madurima Reddy, Psychologist, Continental Hospital.

Another psychologist Dr Somanath says, "If you find you are not feeling great physically or mentally, looking at your sleep schedule, it is a good place to start because sleep creates a greater impact on one's health physically and mentally and several studies show it could have some harmful effects on your health.

While staying up late is linked to the health problems and it does not necessarily cause them but bad patterns of sleep and lack of sleep will decrease the metabolism and makes one sick."
