TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in Nandyal by CID police in the wee hours of Saturday. It was learnt that the police informed Naidu that they are taking him into custody in the skill development scam. There was a high drama in Nandyal from the midnight of Friday. Police officials started mobilising the personnel from the neighbouring district. They restricted TDP cadres at several places preventing them from reaching the RK function hall in the town where Naidu was staying.

In a surprise move CID mentioned the name of TDP AP President K Atchannaidu at three places. Though Atchannaidu was a minister in Naidus cabinet his department had nothing to do with Skill Development.

Though initially the ACB Court judge suggested hearing in her chamber on the request of Naidus legal team she agreed for hearing in open court. It may take about an hour and a half before the verdict is pronounced. Naidus legal team to oppose section 409 and argue that anti corruption act is not applicable to him. The Advocate general and his team will argue that since Naidu was CM at that time it would be applicable to him
