Do away with My Stamp scheme

It refers to media-reports depicting that some notorious ones from the underworld have managed to get issued postage stamps with their photos printed under My-Stamp concept launched by India Posts where individuals can get their photos printed on postage stamps to be used towards postal tariff on payment of extra cost. There is no provision whereby My-Stamp concept may not be available for tax-defaulters and persons with criminal background. India Posts should immediately discontinue My-Stamp concept because practically there can be no provision whereby persons with such notorious background may not be able to get their photos printed on postage-stamps officially issued by India Posts.

TTD playing with Hindu sentiments

In the recent past, indirect attacks and mocking Hindu sentiments are on rise. The recent controversy over the electric decoration on the Tirumala temple is a classic example for this. In the name of 'Purna Kumbha' a symbol which closely resembled the cross was arranged on the temple. When it became viral on social media, the TTD tried in vain to convince the devotees that it was 'Purna Kumba' and not the Cross. The government even tried to book the people who posted it on the social media. These acts of the TTD and the government are highly condemnable and reflect the autocratic attitude of the government. If the government doesn't check this type of incidents, they may lead to communal unrest. Hope the government will act wisely.

Sweet revenge

Congratulations Ajinkya Rahane and boys for winning the second test by eight wickets authoritatively against Australia taking sweet revenge for losing the first test in a discouraging manner. In the absence of Kohli , Rahane led the team successfully standing on fore front and his first innings century put the team in commanding position. All players deserve a pat on their backs as they put the earlier disastrous defeat on the back burner and fought back like real heroes and completely dominated the second test and grabbed the victory with full command. All players contributed with bat and ball in their respective departments proving that the victory is a collective one.

Kudos to Indian cricket team for winning the second test at Melbourne after their midsummer nightmare in the Adelaide test match and keeping Border-Gavaskar trophy series alive. The victory is so memorable when it came after one of their premiere batsman Virat Kohli and bowler Shami were not in the team. Two debutants Siraj and Grill showed great character and temperament at the highest level with their decent performances.

Jadeja who came into the test team performed brilliantly as an all-rounder and gave perfect balance to the current Indian team. In the Adelaide test too Indian team has the upper hand most of the time except that one hour batting horror in second innings. But it is the performance of stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane's standout performance both as batsman and captain of Indian team after the 36/9 nightmare, that stands tall and lifted the morale of Indian cricket team.

Ajinkya Rahane is the Man of the Match for his 112 & 27* and he was the man of the moment at Melbourne. It was a total team effort but the credit must go to our debutants Gill and Siraj. The way they showed character was amazing, unfortunately we lost Umesh but with the arrival of Rohit Sharma our batting line up will be strengthened for the Sydney test. The five bowling options worked out wonders.

The need for an allrounder is fulfilled with Jadeja doing the duty in Kapil Dev's style. Shubman has done well in first-class cricket, showed intent and composure. Siraj bowled with a lot of promise. First class grind put the debutants in good mould to take up the challenge. Losing the toss was a blessing in disguise as the moisture early on the wicket played some trick. In the absence of seasoned campaigners, the youngsters came out trumps.

The real feature of Indian bowling was that both Ashwin and Bumrah combined well to produce dream spells claiming crucial wickets and that spell doom for the Australian batting. In all Rahane stood as a rock and played his role as an inspiring captain and he is the real man of the moment at Melbourne.
